Meet Pluto Productions
Pluto Productions is a UK-based charity dedicated to writing and performing thought-provoking and unique drama on health, social care and societal issues. Original plays, written by Brian Daniels that are inspired by true stories, engage audiences and spark vital after-performance discussions prompting change and reflection.
Contemporary and complex issues covering health and social care including life-limiting illness, dementia, family and workplace relationships, are explored in a compassionate and understanding way.
The plays are commissioned, hosted, and performed at NHS sites, hospitals, hospices, community and national theatres and at conferences. They also provide a unique experience for workforce education and training.

A new play called 'Blue', written by Brian Daniels, was performed at the head office of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) in London. They also commissioned the play and it highlights the extreme strain and distress that nurses often experience when performing their roles in caring for people and their need for proper support. The performance was followed by an exercise in self-reflection involving the audience made up of nurses and allied practitioners about the issues that arose in the play.

Hello, My Name Is...
Two performances of the 'Hello, My Name Is...' play, written by Brian Daniels, have been held at St James's Hospital in Leeds. The event, supported by Leeds Hospitals Charity, was to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Dr Kate Granger who was a consultant geriatrician at the hospital. Along with her husband, Chris Pointon, she set up the 'Hello, My Name Is' campaign after her experience as a patient with a terminal cancer diagnosis. She felt vulnerable with no connection to anyone caring for her. They decided to do something to change this and highlight the importance of professionals establishing connections with the people they care for. The play describes their lives and how, through their shared love and commitment, their campaign became a global phenomenon.
